WAVERLEY PARK

Public BBQ

Waverley Park stands as one of the eastern suburbs' genuine highlights, a historic recreational haven that's been serving the Bondi community since before Sydney's Art Deco era. The expansive green space offers something for everyone - from well-maintained sporting fields (both grass and astro turf) hosting soccer, cricket, and basketball, to what locals claim is Sydney's best toddler playground for non-wet play areas. The park's crown jewel is its safe, well-equipped playground that consistently draws families, complemented by clean toilets and a convenient on-site café with additional coffee shops just down the road. Dog owners gravitate toward the off-leash area near the water tower on the highest ground, though visitors should mind the uneven terrain and lack of shade in this section. While the footy oval remains pristine and tidy, parking presents the main challenge for visitors.
